Hydrangea

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Today as I was walking back to my room from work I saw the most amazing sight! A hydrangea bush full of wonderfully large snowballs! I was so excited to see them so I ran over and picked off a few snowballs and brought them back to my room to enjoy! The bush was very full of blooms so I might make several trips in the near future to replenish my vase. They are so pretty and I wanted to share them with you!

Bible Conference

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

What a great week! The weather was beautiful; the sermons were encouraging; the company was wonderful! Peter arrived safely on Wednesday just in time for the afternoon service. We enjoyed many services and picnics and games… and lots of food!

Catching Up

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Well, Bible Conference week is well under way. The sermons have been thought provoking and the music has been uplifting. The weather has been beautiful! (A nice change from previous years.) Brandon, Beth, Amy, Michelle, and I had a picnic today in the sunshine. img_1378.jpg I was surprised to find out that it was a first for everyone but me. What is Bible Conference without a picnic?! Tomorrow the weather people are calling for cooler temperatures and maybe some rain. That’s a bummer. But maybe they will be wrong!
To “kick off” the week, on Sunday night Amy, Michelle, Claudia, Beth and I went to Olive Garden. We came back with our tummy’s full and a touch of food poisoning which left all but Michelle feeling ill on Monday. Thankfully we are all doing better and we were a bit more interested in food today.
Peter will be here in 15 hours! I can’t wait to see him! It has been 73 days since I saw him last! Be sure that I will post tons of pictures!

Rigoletto

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Last night Amy, Michelle, Abbie and I went to artist series together. It was Rigoletto, which is an opera telling the tragic story of the life of Rigoletto, a crippled court jester. It was by far the best opera that BJU has presented. Two thumbs up!

Stories from the OR Part 2

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

I just started my OB clinical rotation. The first 2 weeks are labor and delivery followed by 2 weeks of postpartum mom/baby then ending the semester with 1 week of high risk pregnancy. I have been waiting for 4 years for these 5 weeks and I can’t believe week one is over already.
Yesterday I missed my first delivery by 15 mins. My patient was trying so hard to deliver before I left at 5, but the baby had other plans. Today, however, I got to go into the OR to watch a C-Section. That is one intense surgery to watch! I will spare you all the gory details, but I will say that a beautiful baby girl was delivered at 1:30 weighing 8lbs 10oz.

I have loved every minute of the last two days!

Monday, March 5th, 2007

On Saturday the University hosted a party for the JR and SR classes. It was complete with carnival rides, cotton candy, and funnel cake. Everyone had a fun time even though it was very cold!
