Beninate’s Baby Bunnies

Monday, June 25th, 2007

About a week ago a mommy bunny made a nest in the Beninate’s yard. By Wednesday it was full of babies- 4 to be exact. They are so very cute! So tiny! All four fit in Mrs. Beninate’s hands. I was afraid that the mom would abandon the babies if we held them, but Mrs. Beninate said that her instinct to care for them is greater than her fear of people. Sure enough, that night she was back to care for them. Enjoy the photos!

My little garden is thriving thanks to all the rain we have been getting. I must admit, due to the rain, I haven’t been monitoring its growth. But to my surprise I have some green baby tomatoes!

Phin

Friday, June 1st, 2007

I recently discovered the my beloved betta fish (Petie) developed popeye (swollen eye) and a gill disease. I rushed him to the pet store and they suggested a medication to add to his water. Three days later he died. After realizing that these diseases were completely preventable by keeping his tank clean and changing his water regularly I felt horrible. I must admit since I got home from school I wasn’t as meticulous about his water as I was when I had him at school. Determined to do better, I allowed my mom to get me another betta fish. His name is Phineus, Phin for short! He is a lively little fella! That’s what caught my attention. That and his beautiful bright blue fins.

Veggies

Friday, June 1st, 2007

I recently planted a small vegetable garden. I guess I should say I planted a tomato and green pepper garden. It is still in it’s baby stage, but I will continue to post pictures as it grows.
