A night out with the girls

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Tonight I went out to dinner and downtown with Megan, Ashley and Adrienne. It was a well needed diversion from studies and white glove!

Go to your local Taco Bell on Oct 30 between 2 and 5 PM for a free taco, thanks to the Boston Red Sox’s Jacoby Ellsbury and his base stealing skills!

New Job

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Today I started my new job at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. I’m actually employed by Perot Systems Government Services but I’m working on their contract with NIH in the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). I’m doing desktop support for the Office of Technology Information Systems (OTIS). As you may have guessed, my head is spinning with acronyms right now…

A little visit…

Last weekend Peter came to BJU to visit me. We had a wonderful time reading our marriage books, walking around campus and just talking. Here is a picture taken right before he left. =(

I can’t believe in 9 months we will be married!!! I can hardly wait!

Prayer

The Difference (author unknown)

I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day.
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me
and heavier came each task.
“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered.
He answered, “You didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn’t show me.
He said, “You didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into God’s presence.
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
“My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning
and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.
