Cleaning arsenal

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

I wanted to share with you some of the weapons in my cleaning arsenal that I can’t wage war without!  They are all Clorox products.

Some well meaning lady gave me a ToiletWand at my bridal shower and I fell in love!  I hate those yuckie toilet scrubbers that sit in the bathroom all full of germs and yuck!

I recently purchased the ReadyMop after many months of mop and bucket unpleasantries in my tiny apartment kitchen.  I am satisfied with the switch!

Another bridal shower gift: Clorox Disinfecting Wipes!  I use them ALL the time!  Very convenient!

The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for Your Child

vaccine

I am currently reading this book by Dr. Robert W. Sears.  This book is an excellent tool to have when making decisions about the various vaccinations for your child.  Full of facts, statistics, research, and truth.  Dr. Sears gives both pros and cons of each vaccine as well as presents options parents most likely don’t know are available to them.  He lists how each vaccine is made and which ingredients are in each.  In this book Dr. Sears also briefly describes the diseases that each vaccine is used for and goes over incidence rates and morbidity and mortality statistics.  Easy read despite how complicated the topic might sound.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Josh Bowersox!

On Saturday April 18th, my cousin Adriane was married.  The wedding was very nice, the weather was perfect, and the reception was a lot of fun!

Bisquick vs Hungry Jack

Monday, April 20th, 2009

When it comes to pancake/waffle mix which is better?

Well, in my home the results are divided right down the middle:  I prefer Bisquick and Peter prefers Hungry Jack.

Hungry Jack might be a great mix for pancakes, but for waffles I submit that it is not!  The waffles were simply pancakes in the shape and form of a waffle.  However Bisquick makes GREAT pancakes AND waffles!

What are your thoughts?

Moving My Parents

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Recently my parents purchased a new home so this past weekend Peter and I, along with my sister Kyle and her husband Joe, helped them move.  Thankfully the weather was PERFECT… not too hot and no rain!  Their new home is located on a lake!  They are planning on doing a lot of work on it before they officially move in.  It was sad saying goodbye to my childhood home that holds so many wonderful memories.  I’m sure in time the new “lake home”, as it has been dubbed, will hold many great memories too.

So this morning I sat down to have myself a nice bowl of JUMBO Krispies.  Thinking that BIGGER is always better, I was startled when my taste buds revolted against this new version of an old friend.  DISGUSTING to say the least.  And the worst of it all… they didn’t snap, crackle or pop!

Today, Jessica and I took a trip to the Botanical Garden in DC. We enjoyed some of the beauty of God’s creation. The day started out rainy and cold, but turned sunny and warm in time for us to take a walk through Georgetown. Here are some pictures from our trip.
