As Long As You Are Glorified By Mark Altrogge

Shall I take from Your hand Your blessings
Yet not welcome any pain
Shall I thank You for days of sunshine
Yet grumble in days of rain
Shall I love You in times of plenty
Then leave You in days of drought
Shall I trust when I reap a harvest
But when winter winds blow, then doubt

Oh let Your will be done in me
In Your love I will abide
Oh I long for nothing else as long
As You are glorified

Are You good only when I prosper
And true only when I’m filled
Are You King only when I’m carefree
And God only when I’m well
You are good when I’m poor and needy
You are true when I’m parched and dry
You still reign in the deepest valley
You’re still God in the darkest night

Chicago

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

For our 3rd wedding anniversary we took a trip to Chicago.  We had a wonderful time!  The temperatures were perfect, the food was fabulous, and the sights were beautiful… what’s not to love?!

I will just share the highlights of the trip, but you are welcome to click here to view a slide show of all the pictures.

Our first stop (after a yummy deep dish pizza lunch at Giordano’s) was  Willis Tower (formally Sears tower).  Here is a picture of us on “The Ledge” 103 stories above the street!

At the Peacock Gate of the Palmer House Hotel

During the summer, free concerts are held at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.  When we were there we enjoyed listening to The Book With Seven Seals by Franz Schmidt.

Lincoln Park is full of FREE things to do!

The city at night was awesome! This picture is taken from the top of the ferris wheel at Navy Pier.  On weekends during the summer, there is a free fireworks show from Navy Pier.

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different buildings of Chicago on the Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise.

Our reflection in The Cloud Gate.

We are not Cubs fans but, at Peter’s request, we toured Wrigley Field and loved it!  It was built in 1914!!
