Super Pet Expo

Sunday, March 18th, 2012

On Friday we went to the Super Pet Expo and took along with us our puppy Molly. We meet a lot of nice dogs and enjoyed some fun entertainment and got lots of free samples of yummy treats (for Molly!) We also found some awesome new pet items!  Here is a list of our favorite (Molly’s opinion is included!) Super Pet Expo finds:

First and foremost: A moose antler chew from Acadia Antlers

Molly LOVES this and will sit and chew on it for hours! It’s natural and safe, so we love it too!

Second: A Freedom No-Pull Harness

Third: Micro-chipped

We were excited to be able to get Molly micro-chipped for a fraction of the regular price! Pender Vet was offering this service for only $35!

Fourth: The Pet Top

In addition to all the fun gadgets and gizmos we found, Molly also enjoyed taking a short agility lesson:

It’s a BOY!!

Quentin George Collins was born March 13, 2012 at 7:40 am… after 32 long hours of laboring by his momma! He weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and was 22 inches long.  After a few bumps in the road, both mommy and baby… (and daddy and Grandma!) are doing well! This little guy has a head full of dark hair and some adorably plump cheeks!!

Congratulations to our dear friends Michael and Gracen on the arrival of their first little one!

Glittered eggs: A lesson

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

I wanted “fancy” Easter eggs for a Spring decoration.

In February I saw some nice ones at Michael’s, but when I went back to get them in March, they were sold out.

But they had these eggs:

But they weren’t pretty.

I thought I would cover them in glitter to glam them up a bit.

My supplies: Glitter, spray adhesive, baggies, scissors, and LOTS of newspaper

The process was VERY messy but the eggs turned out nice!

Some eggs have an ugly side…

But I like the way they turned out!

SO when I was all done, I searched the web for a less messy way to cover eggs with glitter… and wouldn’t you know that Martha knows best! =)  Here is another option that is cheaper and easier. Maybe I should have done my research before, instead of after! Oh well! =)
